Monday, May 5th.  Kids To Adopt staff was very, very upset to hear that this sweet boy passed away today.  Mikhail had been waiting for his forever family for a very long time, and had just found one.  He was an intelligent, loving gentle little boy and will be missed greatly.  Our condolences go out to his family.

KIDS TO ADOPT NEWS

May 15: We are very pleased to announce that we have received our official Certificate Of Accreditation from COA. We have been given the maximum accreditation period of 5 years for our Hague Accreditation!  Initial accreditation periods are from 3 to 5 years. Receiving an initial accreditation of 5 years shows that we have achieved the highest level of compliance with the U.S. regulations of the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption.

Apr 14: We are continuing to work with Burkina Faso officials to start our first family on the road to a successful adoption from their country.  Through our continuing dialogue, Ministry of Social Welfare officials assure us that U.S. families will not be required to meet 2 year residency rules and that all referrals will meet U.S. requirements for orphan status classification.  We have also made a couple updates to the Burkina Faso Adoption Program page to reflect our latest information on requirements and process.

Apr 4:  New Adoption Program!  Kids to Adopt is proud to announce our newest adoption program in Burkina Faso in west Africa. We are also thrilled to be working with Until All Have Homes in helping to support their Fields of Grace orphanage.

Apr 1: No fooling around on this April Fools Day... The Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption officially goes into force today!  We are happy to let you know that we were placed on the official list of Accredited providers as of yesterday, March 31, 2008.

Mar 28: Kids to Adopt is pleased to announce that we have received email notification from COA that we have received our Hague Accreditation!  With this notification we are also happy to be opening a new adoption program.  Watch for the official announcement on our new adoption program within the next few days.

Mar 21:  Kids To Adopt has a new adoption newsletter, so be sure to read up!  We also have a new Family Story that is featured in this month's newsletter - thank you Tracy and Larry! Happy Spring to all!!!

Mar 20:
Unfortunately, at this time the Kazakhstan Consulate has halted the processing of American dossiers for adoption.  We are hopeful that in a few months they will start accepting them again, but do not know for sure.  If you are interested in adopting from Kazakhstan, now would not be a good time to start the process.  We recommend waiting until the Consulate opens up once again.

Feb 19:
Our Hague site visit is complete!  It went well and our evaluators gave us very positive feedback.  Our official report of our site visit from COA should arrive back to us within the next 30 days or so.  Because of having to postpone and reschedule our site visit, we do not believe we will be able to make it on the initial list of accredited agencies.  However, if we have passed our site visit, we hope to be added to the list of Hague accredited agencies soon after the initial list is published.

Feb 18:  The office will be closed today due to our Hague inspection!  Please either email or call and leave a message and we will get back to you tomorrow!  Thank you :)

Jan 22nd:
Bulgaria has issued a statement concerning their process for reviewing family information and sending out information on referrals.  They have announced that they will be meeting once a week and processing an average of 10 cases a week.  This is extremely good news for the Bulgarian program and shows that the goals of the Minister of Justice to speed up the process is happening!  Current statistics in Bulgaria show that there are about 2,560 children waiting to be adopted - half of them whom are healthy and half of them whom have special needs.  For more information on our Bulgarian adoption program, contact us at 360-695-1704.

Dec 14th:
